The village of Spilia
Tradition says that the village has been named after the cave (="spilia" in greek) of Agios Ioannis, which lies on the barrow of Marathokefala. The Temple of Agios Ioannis Erimitis and the Temple of Agii Pantes are inside the cave.
The Temple of Mihail Arhagelos Rotonda is one of the most important old-christian monuments of Crete and lies within 4 km from Spilia.
The Temple of Kimisi Theotokou is a christian monument in the neighbourhood of Nerania in Spilia.
The Temple of Panagia Mirtidiotissa in Spilia is a 19th century church.
The Monastery of Theotokos Odigitria in Gonia - Kissamos was founded in the early 17th century and is very close to the village of Spilia.
The ecclesistical museum of Spilia keeps many remarkable ceremonial objects and portable icons of the Metabyzantine period.
The village of Kolimbari
Kolimbari is a beautiful village at a distance of 24 kilometers from the city of Chania, on the road from Chania to Kasteli (Kissamos) lying right at the cove of the gulf of Chania, where the pennisula of Spatha begins.
The new national road from Chania to Kasteli allows a fast visit to the nearby gulf of Kissamos and a visit to the town of Kasteli, too.
